Hampshire Bird Club

PROGRAMS

Meetings take place on the second Tuesday of each month from September through June, unless otherwise advertised. They are free and open to all.

When?

There is a general club meeting beginning at 7:15 p.m., featuring recounts of recent field trips, notice of upcoming trips and programs, discussion of noteworthy bird sightings, reports from club officers, and other business. This is followed by the invited speaker presenting the program for the month, or by a picnic with associated activities.

Where?

This year, we plan to hold meetings at the Hitchcock Center for the Environment, 845 West St, Amherst for the months of October through December and March through May. These in-person meetings are hybrid with an option for Zoom viewing. There is parking at the Center, which is surrounded by ample bird habitat. For January and February we will have remote-only (Zoom) meetings in recognition of the more difficult driving conditions, adverse weather, earlier darkness, and higher virus prevalence during the winter months. In September and June we plan to enjoy the extra hours of daylight by having picnics at Mass Audubon’s Arcadia Wildlife Sanctuary in lieu of our typical indoor meetings.
