| The Hampshire
Bird Club, Inc. (HBC) was organized in
1984. It is an incorporated 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. The
purpose of the HBC is to help members and the general public enjoy birding
and to educate them about birds, bird watching, and bird habitats.
The HBC is
a good source of information for bird watching newcomers as well
as for the more experienced birder. Our members range from
the casual observer to the avian-possessed.
Members receive a monthly
newsletter (September-June) describing regular programs, field
trips and
bird related events in the area. They have access to the ever-expanding HBC
lending library at the
Hitchcock Center. And members can join the Rare Bird Alert email
list or
telephone tree.
Our membership year runs from October through September.
Meetings are scheduled September-June; field trips are scheduled
throughout
the year.
Meetings are held at 7:30 p.m. at the Immanuel
Lutheran Church in
Amherst on the second Monday of each month (unless changed to a different
Monday to avoid a holiday). All meetings are free and open to the
general public.
If you have questions contact the Club's President, David Gross,
Membership Secretary, Susan Emerson, or Newsletter Editor, David
Peake Jones.
