	Field Trips
The HBC offers field trips to spots easily reached and explored in one day. No costs other than travel, meals and incidental fees are involved. Please call the trip leader to register so that plans can be made for the size of the group and you can be notified if a change is necessary. We carpool whenever possible and share driving expenses. Transportation costs are calculated on the basis of 40 cents per mile per car plus tolls and parking fees. We recommend that all persons in the car, including the driver, share costs equally. Remember to use the Voice of Audubon to learn what birds are being seen across the state or to make a report. A (non-toll-free) number will put you in touch with the statewide system at Lincoln that covers four separate Rare Bird Alert areas in Massachusetts. Call 1-781-259-8805 and follow directions. 	Rare Bird Alerts
The HBC provides an email rare bird alert system for its members. Read more about signing up for the RBA and procedures on how it is administered. If you have sighted what you think is a rare bird, email your information (including date and time of the sighting, location and relevant travel information to the RBA gatekeepers at alert@hampshirebirdclub.org who will forward the information to the RBA list. In an emergency, the list may be directly accessed at rba@hampshirebirdclub.org. Note that you must manually reply to an automatic message to successfully submit to this list.
